This season we hark back to our craft. As technology has encroached upon us with its challenges, we strive to find a space where we can disconnect and get in touch with our strengths. Busy hands re-assure our minds and getting productive is the way to feel accomplished and re-invigorated. Mastery informs how we craft, chasing an identifiable style and driving us to innovation.
Re-engaging with the pleasure of making, we venture to The Workroom. Our lab takes inspiration from our burning creative spirit and the desire to get our hands dirty. Emotional needs are most authentically fulfilled with corporeal interactions. The texture of materials, the focused energy of the studio.
Sprout Backpack in Flint $229 | Kernel Crossbody in Flint $199
From one maker to another, our products celebrate the artisan skills and the pride that goes with creating something true. We think of our bags as toolbelts, mobile work stations, a place to hold a kit of must-have gadgets, essentials at solving day to day problems.

CAN YOU TELL US WHAT A TYPICAL WORKING DAY LOOKS LIKE?
As a freelancer there is no ‘typical’ working day. I could be anywhere from heading out on location to client meetings or hunting for my next inspiration. I never stop looking! Every day I’ll take screenshots or images of elements that inspire throughout my day to reference back, should the job align with my vision. One thing I keep consistent is I practice meditation, being grounded and thankful in the present moment. There are so many variables in this line of work that it’s so important to stop and feel where you are right now because 5 years ago it was where you were aiming to be.
PREPARING FOR A SHOOT?
I’m very visual so I like to communicate with my client through imagery sound or even scent to really identify their vision and inspiration behind the new direction. It is also really important to have a conversation about who they are and what they were to understand the backbone of the brands identity.
HOW COLLABORATIVE IS YOUR JOB?
Collaboration is key! It is always a team effort, keeping communication open is crucial to executing a cohesive vision. Sometimes my role involves developing the set or scouting a location, which I will often consult closely with the photographer. Let the experts be experts and your work will shine!
HOW HAS YOUR STYLE EVOLVED?
My Personal Style evolves everyday! I tend to dress instinctually. Dressing for me really is based around mood, practicality and being comfortable. As a Stylist overall I’d say my aesthetic and creative direction are very much driven by the product or person I am working with. I delve inside to really get to know the core of the subject and work from the inside out.
WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
What doesn’t? That would be a shorter list!
Travel is a big one. Different cities give off different vibes and ways of dressing. I really like that. Designers are an inspiration for me too, I like to see what exists in the flesh then use it to tell a story with my interpretation and spin of it. art, literature and film, basically any kind or storytelling for me is inspiration!
DO YOU HAVE ANY SIDE HUSTLES?
Always on the hustle! The next project for me is designing a pop up space for a new Melbourne accessory line before Spring Racing hits the scene. It’s really important to support our Melbourne Grown brands. I’ll simultaneously be prepping and working through the awards circuit for the Hair industry in the coming months which is always wild!
FAVE CRUMPLER PRODUCT?
The Stash expandable waist pack for sure! it’s absolutely perfect on set. Fits all my pins, tape, clamps.and sneaky styling not so glamorous items that are used behind the scenes.
ANY WORDS OF WISDOM?
Never stop. You will absolutely make mistakes along the way, lots of them! That’s the beauty of this life we live. If you’re not prepared to fail you’ll never come up with anything original and that’s just boring. Always chase happiness not dollars and be kind to everyone you meet and work with, the Fashion scene is smaller than you think!
