SEBANG OUTPOST (L) is rated 4.1818 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great bag married to a poorly engineered strap The bag is very well designed and provides an excellent, well-padded, and configurable area to store camera gear.  As I learned first hand, the included rain cover very effectively protects the bag in rather heavy downpours.   The zipper pulls are just pieces of leather-like material with the Crumpler logo that have a very annoying habit of coming off at the most inopportune times.  At this price point, a higher-quality zipper pull should have been used.   The strap is another matter and frankly seems to be an example of spending so much attention focusing on a clever design that the core functionality of the product is compromised. The strap has two differently sized padded areas, one on each end.  In a perfect world, the bag would be worn over the shoulder, either in the front or the back, and the padded ends would provide the perfect amount of support for the bag with the minimal amount of padding, but in reality the designers chose to make the straps a bit too short, at least for me.  The end result is that I constantly fidgeted with trying to adjust the bag so it was comfortable. In addition, since the padded areas are permanently attached to the end, it's just uncomfortable to carry the bag in a more conventional manner since there's no padded support for the middle of the strap.  I also find it very annoying that the ends of the strap aren't designed to either fit in the attachment point sleeve or fully stay out of the sleeves.  The strap would have been much, much more effective if the ends had been made longer to accommodate more variation in body types and provided some way to have a padded support in the middle of the strap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Some (even Crumpler?) don't see genius in strap! I love this bag. Perfect size for my Olympus OMD E-M10 with an extra lens , charger etc. Beautifully made, gorgeous green, lovely strong but kind material, etc. But reading some reviews here, and even the "manual", I wonder if people appreciate the true genius of the strap design. It's probably at it least able, though still very competent, over one shoulder. Over a shoulder and a neck (as shown in images on this page) it starts to come into its own. But the third (best) option doesn't even rate a mention! Wear it around your waist. The combination of release clip & pull tags make it a doddle to put on & tighten. Worn this way, those fabric strap extensions from the bag make huge sense. They stop it sliding down and add to the "comfort padding". The slight "angles" on the straps make sense then. Probably the most secure way to wear a camera bag, too. Harder to drop than over a shoulder & harder for someone to pinch. Whichever way you wear it (and circumstances can dictate different choices at different times) , this is a great camera bag, but worn around the waist I reckon its a stunner.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not perfect but bloody close! First up I will say I can understand some of the criticism I have seen of this bag. I personally don't have a problem with the strap but I will admit it is not the best strap I have seen on a Crumpler- nor any other- camera bag but it is reasonably comfortable and easy to adjust. I bought the Sebang Outpost because I needed an tweener- something big enough to carry a body and a couple of lenses but small enough that I'm not tempted to drag along my whole rig. As I write this I have a Canon 40D w/50mm lens, a spare 18-35mm lens and flash alongside the regular daily detritus- keys, phone etc in the bag and it is comfortable to carry, everything fits nicely and I could probably jam a few more bits and pieces in if I had to. This is not a bag that will suit everyone and every occasion but it does the job I need it for. Pros- Size is good, gear is easily accessible and the bright blue interior means everything is visible and easy to find. Cons- A broader, longer strap would be nice- the existing strap does the job but only just. It could also do with an external lash point, a couple of loops or something to clip on a small tripod or to be able to lash the bag to a bigger pack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy access, comfortable, and it looks great After trying many different shoulder bags, I'm glad I found this one. I wanted something that was low profile, comfortable, had easy access, and was weather resistant. My previous bag was an Incase Ari sling bag that I was never quite satisfied with. It was never comfortable, the strap was too bulky, and the interior dividers weren't really adjustable. I found that it didn't sit quite right when used messenger style, and it wasn't comfortable when cinched up close to my back sling style. The Crumpler Sebang Outpost in Large works very well when used messenger style. It hugs the body and the strap is minimal, but comfortable. I found that it had similar issues as the Ari when used sling style because of the location that the strap is attached to the bag. My preference is to only use it messenger style so this didn't bother me. I love the ease of access when fully zipped open. It opens up like the mouth of a clam but is still secure that nothing falls out. The interior is a bright blue color so that you can easily see what's inside. I got the navy color and it's a great vintage shade of dark blue. I had an issue with the main zipper pull tabs (with the Crumpler logo) falling off, but that was easily resolved by studying the other zipper pull tabs that were on tight. I just had to reverse the way they looped through the zipper pull and they are no longer falling off. This bag fits my D800 with 24-70mm Nikkor attached (no hood), and has room for a Sigma 35mm Art and 85mm 1.8G Nikkor on the sides. The front holds my lens pen, sharpie, business cards, lens caps, rocket blower, extra battery, and more. With that load, it will be hard to stick an iPad in there, but it will fit. I rarely carry an iPad so I use that pocket for maps and papers. It balances very well on the hip and I can compare it to the way a 3-pocket medic bag would hang. I use the strap fully extended and it's the perfect size for my 5'8" long-torso frame. If you are really tall, the strap may be too short for you to use messenger style. I would not hesitate to buy this bag again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for travel! Brought this for our upcoming European holiday, and we are so glad we did! Not only does it carry all of the camera equipment we'll need, we can also slip the iPad in and carry a few other bits and pieces. We love the fact that it has the rain cover, it mean's we won't have to worry about it getting wet if we are caught out in the rain. It sits very comfortably and is really just perfect for our needs!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product The model I bought was a dual mode waist and shoulder camera bag. I wouldn't use it as a waist bag or for cameras but the size was right. A key clip would be nice to make it easy to find keys. These are minor issues. Otherwise the bag looks good and feels solid and dependable. I've started wearing it every day to work, might switch back to my pack for more carry space sometime, I'll see.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice bag Have bought this bag for my trip to Greece, fits SLR with lens attached plus 2 additional lenses. Very well designed and hard to fault this bag. Would have put 5 stars if it had more padding in the base, but that's me being picky. Highly recommended...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fits more than you'd think. I bought this bag a month ago and I've used it a few times. T it fits a DSLR and a long lens with room for a few other small items. My only issue with the bag is it is a little light on padding - you don't want to drop your camera in this bag,
