KARACHI OUTPOST (S) is rated 4.75 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nothing Gets Left Behind! I am a photographer and outdoors enthusiast, so I have fallen in love with my Karachi Outpost. Fits every single bit of my camera gear, camera, lenses, chords, batteries, tripods, manuals, not to mention the extras, drink bottles, jumpers, wallets, sunnies, phone, ipad, you name it. The material it's made of is unbelievable. Dirt. Water. Mud. Grass stains. No match whatsoever. It's got a wicked waterproof cover which I love, but the best thing is how I can carry everything on me at the one time, nothing ever gets left behind!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for lots of equiptment! I don't usually write reviews, but it was hard to find any feedback on this particular backpack so I thought I might write one just to help out! Size: I spent a long time debating between the two sizes (S vs L), and ultimately went for the Small which was perfect (I'm 5'6, female). The L would have been too big and made me felt like a turtle! Aesthetics: This backpack is so good looking! I have a trip to Europe coming up and I look forward to bringing it with me and not having to worry about people knowing that this backpack holds some expensive equipment. You can definitely see that the quality of this bag is very good and the straps are made strong. Usability: As for the backpack itself, the color is brilliant and I like all the organization it provides. It doesn't look like it in the picture, but the backpack is actually very 'structured' meaning that its basically built to enclose the inner structure that holds the camera + equipment. It basically floats in the middle of backpack. That said, while this backpack can hold a lot of camera related equipment from the back, I wish there was more space on the top to put stuff (its quite small) or at least make it customization. I notice that the bottom of the upper component doesn't really touch the top of the structure, so there's a bit of wasted space / same with the bottom of the backpack. Camera Compartment: It comes with a little baggie of velcro straps so the entire compartment is customizable to what you want to put in. I was able to fit my D800 with a 14-24 lens into it (though it was a bit tight) and still have room for one extra (smaller) lens, and battery /cables. The Ipad pouch (the blue part on the back) is a nice touch but I don't like how it sticks out from the rest of the backpack, especially when its resting on my back. Overall, I think this backpack suits my needs for now and its one of the more attractive options on the market right now. It is quite pricey though so I will still keep a look out for a better backpack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Non-photographer, recommended for its versatility I'm not a photographer. I can point and shoot, that's about it. So why did I buy a camera bag? I just had a hunch it would be really convenient and versatile. Thankfully, I was right! So far, this bag has been on several beach and bike riding trips. The main compartment (where camera gear is supposed to be stored) can be taken apart. Once you remove the storage compartment, it gives you plenty of space. For bike riding: the main compartment held two full size thermos bottles (1L) with room to spare. For beach trip: main compartment held 2xtowels, sunscreen. Top compartment held wet swimwear using the waterproof cover. So have I just paid way too much money for a beach bag? I say, no! I've paid for the versatility. Beach bag today, laptop and city bag tomorrow. Admittedly, I haven't used the storage compartments yet, they are still sitting on a shelf waiting for me to figure out what they can be used for apart from hodling lenses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from plenty of space with a rain cover that works I bought this bag before going away on a short holiday. I have other camera bags, these were too big, or not comfortable to lug around all day (shoulder bag). Enter the outpost. I knew before I left which lenses I would take. A 24-105, 17-35 2.8 and a 70-200 2.8. This and my 5D mk ii body. It all fits quite well in the shell, some slight maneuvering required with the body. In addition to this I managed to fit my 580 ex flash and a gorilla pod in there as well. Plenty of room for cards, filters and cables in the front and side storage pockets. I actually used one of the side pockets to carry a drink bottle. The part I'm most thankful for is the rain cover. I was walking back from the event when it began to rain heavily. I primed or the rain cover and slipped it over the bag. When I got to the hotel, I was soaked but my bag and camera gear was not. I have since even managed to fit a rolled and folded jacket in the top pouch. Fantastic bag with a few more features than my other camera bags.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Camera Bag Great Stuff, as always. I've been a long time fan of Crumpler gear. Was very disappointed to notice that they are no longer manufactured in Australia, and this will probably affect my decision to purchase in the future- but the quality appears to be the same as it has always been

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little bag for camera enthusiast Ample storage space for a few lenses, flashes, batteries, accessories and the camera. Simple and functional design with good protection. Only access to the camera is through the back so it can be troublesome to pull out and put in the camera.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent as a camera bag This is a great camera bag, really clever use of space and the removable, customised section for storing kit is excellent. The main section can fit a lot; usually I carry a camera body, two or three lenses, a 2.5" hard drive, 7" tablet, 12" laptop, spare batteries, power adaptor, cables and other bits and pieces. The bag is comfortable even while walking around with a lot of gear. It sits well and the padding is adequate. And I love the fact that it doesn't look like a camera bag. The size of the top section seems to depend on the amount of gear in the back and the way that the dividers have been configured - something I didn't understand until using it. Clever. It doesn't hold much but can expand upward by loosening the straps of the top flap. The side pockets are a bit of a let down. They are well designed, have a separate lycra-type fabric pocket to stop scratches and the flap seems to cover it nicely and keep it dry. But they're too small. The bag comes with a strap to hold a tripod in place on the side but I can't imagine any decent tripod completely fitting in the pocket. You'll always have one leg out. It doesn't get in the way but it seems an oversight. It doesn't seem like slightly larger pockets would throw off the aesthetics or balance so it’s a bit odd that you don't get just a little more space to hold stuff, especially stuff like water bottles which you want kept away from your gear. But it’s nit-picking. Still an awesome bag that I'm using everyday.
