Nice bag for a recent overnight trip
By Dave
just got The Boston Heist to use on a recent overnight trip from Melbourne to Perth
i must say it worked rather well
i packed a small internal drawstring bag with a spare change of clothes and toiletries
macbook air 13" in a sleeve in the padded laptop compartment
power adaptor + air ethernet adaptor in one of the smaller internal pockets
a few newspapers for the flight + notebook, pen, bunch of keys and compact camera all easily found homes inside
used one of the outside pockets for wallet + phone - found the orange tab on one of the two outside pocket zipper pullers very very handy - a quick visual queue to tell my generally confused brain which pocket to go for
the padded handles are rather comfy and the way you can easily connect or disconnect the shoulder strap is also well thought out and worked well when I wanted to use my camera
very impressed
thanks
A brilliant all round business case/bag
By SPG8
This is one of the very best all round bags I have ever bought! While a bit pricey compared to other brands, it is fantastic!
No bag is ever "all things to all people", so both for photography and business I find I have a number of bags. Having bought a terrific Crumpler laptop bag I appreciate their materials and simplicity of design - no excessive fiddly compartments to lose things in; no excess use of Velcro; nuclear disaster proof fabrics and the best zippers in the game!
For day to day business I find even a well designed laptop bag a bit limiting and I do not like always having to carry it over my shoulder. So finding the Boston Heist very appealing. Overall it is not a "big" looking bag - just average looking size, Yet the room inside is very spacious and certainly enough as a business travel overnight bag.
The Boston Heist is ideal for day to day business and travel use. The form factor is brilliant - well done Crumpler - because it is so simple and well thought out.
Being a carry bag and not a shoulder bag the handle design is VIP - this is integrated into the form factor very well giving it a very stable feel.
Inside the open 4 "pockets" are just great - no zippers, just reach and grab whatever you put in.
The handles are very comfortable and grippy enough even when you might have say 8kgs of gear inside.
The laptop sleeve is perfect because it is simple and open - safe enough for normal use and roomy enough for 15.5" wide-screen laptops wearing a neoprene sleeve if you tend to knock your gear around.
The so-called side pockets are equally brilliant in their simplicity - not actually on the side, but sit parallel to the main compartment zipper on the top. I like the use of different colour pulls on the zippers because it helps avoid confusion about which side you used.
The weather-proof zipper seals are also a great touch.
The only enhancement I can suggest is that maybe the centre of the handles could be thicker in diameter for added comfort when on a long walk. They are good, just not perfect.
But, this is definitely one of the very best business carry bags I have ever bought or used over many years! 98/100 Crumpler!
Comfy and fusion of formal and causal!

Got this bag for school as i'm in a business course - tote bag appears too causal; laptop bag too out-fashioned... till the boston heist come to my attention! it's comfy to use, with two zippers in different colours to help differentiate. it's roomy but i still kinda missed the space offered by my previous messenger bag. padded area is a tad thin though. so just invest in a good sleeve for extra protection. recommended for it's simplistic-chic-functional look
Love of Crumpler Products Continues
By Bianca
After giving away my Considerable Embarrassment to another person, I was on the hunt for a new Crumpler bag and stumbled across the Boston Heist. If possible, I love it even more than I did my Considerable Embarrassment. It is excellently crafted, all the stitching is perfectly done, the zips are faultless, and the extra covering on the handles and carrying strap mean shoulders don't suffer carrying everything around Melbourne. It has enough pockets to hold everything you could possibly carry and the bright interior means if you are carrying a lot it's easy to spot everything in your bag- even the smallest clips and pens. As someone else has mentioned, the padding for your laptop is a bit thinner than I've seen in other Crumpler products, but a matching FUG has cleared up any concerns that I had. I continue to be a huge Crumpler fan, amazed by their excellent customer service (especially at Highpoint Store) and will tell anyone who will listen- if you want an excellent bag, get a Crumpler!
Lost a bunch of weight
By Lee
I travel about 200 days a year, and carry a lot of tech gear. On a recent trip to Australia I got nailed with cabin baggage issues. I have always had Tumi bags, which are really well built, but are extremely heavy. With just a Macbook retina and a Nikon D7000 I couldn't get under the 7kg limit. I weighed my Tumi bag and it was 3.5kg by itself.
I was in the airport and picked up this Crumpler bag. It doesn't weight anything. Seriously, it's merely grams. I bought it out of desperation and travelled around for three weeks with it. I am really impressed. For something that weights nothing, it is very sturdy. The plastic buckles are very tough, the padded handles are awesome.
I'm really not a fan of organizational pockets, because they never fit what I have. This one has just four folded pockets, and they are a good size. I've become a fan of my own little cube cases and just wanted a bag with a ton of space.
Well done Crumpler.
Exactly what I needed
By CrisB
For a few years I'd been using a nice backpack when not wanting to lug along a full suitcase on one, two or three night trips, but I've matured and my luggage needed to follow suit. The Boston Heist is exactly what I was looking for: a classic, stylish bag that fits just enough stuff for a couple nights on the road. Even my mom was impressed with the bag, and happy to see the backpack go. The internal compartments are great for keeping things organized, and so far the bag has held up wonderfully. The quality of the stitching, etc. looks great too, so I look forward to having this be my go-to bag for many years to come.
